SHIP PAL GYE means 18 weapons. This style incorporates all of the traditional Chinese weapons numbering well over one hundred. An important part of SHIP PAL GYE involves weaponless movements. These movements develop the strength, coordination and timing necessary to be able to practice with actual weapons without accident or injury. There are three basic stages to weapon training. First, it is necessary to prepare the body to be able to handle the weapon. Secondly, practice begins with the weapon with the initial movements being very simple and basic. Once comfortable with the weapon, the final stage is to practice a long series of movements until the weapon, the movement and the body are one. Benefits: |
